Meet Jean Gurney

Owner of Jean Gurney & Company, LLC, located in Shorewood, Wis., Jean is an AFP Certified Fund Raising Executive since 1990 with over 25 years of experience in development.  An independent consultant since 2000, a sample of her clients includes the Bel Canto Chorus, Next Act Theatre, Shorewood Public Library, Milwaukee Public Museum, and the Milwaukee Urban Soccer Collaborative. Her earlier work consisted of terms as the Chief Development Officer for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the YMCA of Metro Milwaukee, and the Milwaukee Public Library Foundation.

She is a cum laude graduate of Lawrence University, and obtained a masters degree from Howard University School of Religion. Her proudest achievement is the successful planning and management of the $8.1 million Central Library Renovation Campaign which expanded and restored an historic national landmark that serves more than two million patrons a year.
